★ Me 2 U

Being a hairdresser does not exclude me from the daunting decisions that many women face everyday when attempting to find the perfect hairstyle. To put it frankly, there is no perfect hairstyle, thus the reason for so many of them.

The top three factors that I find most women will take into consideration when looking for a different style are:
  1. Will I be able to afford the maintenance, or maintain the style on my own?
  2. What style appropriately fits my lifestyle, ie. age, work, physical activities?
  3. Will my better-half approve of the style?
This section of my blog is from me to you. A quick look into the different phases that I've ventured off into, in an effort to find the perfect style. Maybe, just maybe, I can help spark a few ideas for your next trip to the hair salon.

Enjoy.

Short / Natural Hair

I've always heard women say "I can't wear my hair really short, my head is too big," or "my face is too pudgy". In my opinion there is no such thing. Wearing a short cut is all about finding the perfect dimension to fit your facial frame, and also the correct hair lining is a very important component.

Everyone can go natural. Some women may opt to go without any chemicals at all, but there are instances where a texturizer would be more sensible. A relaxer is also an option, if your hair is extremely curly and you're looking to slightly relax your natural curl pattern. A professional hairdresser should be able to advise you on which method is best for you.

Chic, Sophisticated, and Easy
This is my go to style that everyone seems to love on me. When I'm in mid-process of growing my hair, or if I'm in need of a quick fix, this is a great style that I would suggest to a lot of my clients. This style is a practical solution to a lot of your summertime hair qualms also, and against popular belief it wears well on several different hair types.

Ponytails!
What can I say?! I adore them. You see them on the red carpet, in the work place and at the club. They can be dressed up or down and they're very, very practical. Don't let me forget to mention that ponytails tend to add a bit of youthfulness to your appearance.

It's a Wrap!

This particular style is often referred to as a wrap or a flat-iron. I achieved this look using the full sew-in technique. I purchased a closure which had the bang attached. The closure cost me approximately $30 online.

Full sew-ins are a great option if you're in the in-between phase of growing your hair and finding it hard to find a style in its current state, if you are looking for something that will relieve you from the sometimes time-consuming duties of maintaining your hair, or if you like a longer and fuller look that you cannot achieve with your natural hair, like me.

Worlds of Curls!

My hair is naturally wavy, which makes it hard for me to keep it straight or flat ironed. Humidity is not my friend. Because of this, I prefer to wear wavy or curly styles. Why fight nature?

In the above pic, I have a sew-in weave. This particular method is called 'Interlock', a more natural looking style of sew-in compared to using a closure. The interlock method works best with wavy to curly hair extensions versus using straight hair.

This style is very carefree and can last for 2-3 months with proper maintenance.

You can also achieve this look with natural hair that is mid-length to long, by using the straw set method. Ask your stylist if he or she is familiar with this method or better yet, call me :-).

Two Faced!

Are you undecided on whether to go short or long? Go both ways! Lol.

This is a style that I've wanted to try ever since the singer Cassidy made it popular a little while back. I call it the two-faced look. One side is shaved real low, while the alternate side is kept lengthy and can be styled in various ways from pin-ups, to long layers, crimps, wavy extensions and more.

I must say that I've gotten great revues on this particular style, from the guys and the girls equally. I call this one a winner. Although my better-half posed a question to me. "You've cut off half of your hair, now what are you gonna do?" Lol... it remains to be seen my friends.

I will continue to add more pics...so come on back!
